Airdrie Minor Hockey teams are not mandated or required to take buses thru a formal policy. Our AA teams do use bus services to away games as dictated by their coaching staff, as a rule AA teams bus to games that are over an hour away. Travel teams must decide as a group when or if they will be taking a bus. Considerations include cost differential from driving individually and distance to away games.
Bus lines used by AMHA teams must prove to be meeting or exceeding all industry safety standards. When bus lines have been shown to do so, we will include their link on this website. If your team is considering using a bus line that is not included here please contact our AMHA Risk Management Director, Ryan Saumier. firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are a service provider interested in offering your service to AMHA please contact email@example.com
Canada Coach Lines
The purpose of the team bus experience is to ensure teams travel together, arrive on time, prepare for their game etc. Team busing could also be considered a cost saving measure and as such we do not discourage player's families from traveling on the bus provided that there is space based on priority. Priority is A) Players and team staff, B) Parents C) Siblings.
Some important reminders when it comes to siblings traveling on the bus.
1. Siblings must be seated with a parent
2. Siblings must adhere to all rules of the bus (noise etc)
3. No sibling shall take the place or space of a parent traveling on the bus.
4. Players & team staff needs are the priority for bus trips. Please remember that movies, discussion, environment is to be kept age appropriate for the players.
AMHA WILL BE ENFORCING ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ALCOHOL ON TEAM BUSES. NO ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION ON AMHA SANCTIONED TEAM BUS TRIPS to ANYWHERE-EVER.
